Why I named my agency Boring Commerce

By 1 min read

Every agency in performance marketing has some version of the same pitch. We'll 10x your ROAS. Growth hacking. Disruptive strategies. It's all noise.

I named mine Boring Commerce because the work that actually moves the needle for D2C brands is, frankly, boring.

Campaign structure. That's boring. But mess it up and you're bleeding money into overlapping audiences that bid against each other.

Daily bid adjustments. Boring. But skip a day and that one ad set you forgot about burns through its budget on display placements that get 0.01% CTR.

Creative rotation. Boring. But run the same static image for three weeks and watch your frequency hit 4.0 while your CPM doubles.

Attribution reconciliation: checking what Meta claims vs what Shopify actually saw. The most boring task in the world. Also the one that tells you whether your agency is actually making money or just reporting platform-inflated numbers to feel good about it.

We do the boring work. We check the numbers. We adjust the bids. We kill the underperformers before they eat the budget. We reconcile across platforms so the client knows what's real and what's not.

It's not exciting. It's profitable.

And honestly? If your agency's value proposition requires excitement, you're probably not doing the fundamentals right.
