About

Who is Anish Jajodia?

Anish Jajodia is an Indian entrepreneur and performance marketer from Hyderabad. He founded Boring Commerce in 2018, an agency that runs Meta and Google Ads and builds Shopify stores for direct-to-consumer brands. The agency has worked with more than 500 brands and managed over $125 million in advertising spend. He runs the agency on an AI operating system he built himself with Claude Code, and writes about performance marketing, D2C growth and AI systems for agencies.

He started building websites as a child and never really stopped. The path went from HTML and PHP to freelancing, to e-commerce and Shopify, and from there into paid acquisition, because the stores he built needed traffic that paid for itself. That mix of design, engineering and media buying is still how Boring Commerce works: the same team that runs a brand’s Meta and Google accounts builds and fixes the store the ads send people to.

The name is the thesis. Most of what makes paid acquisition profitable is unglamorous: campaign structure, daily bid changes, creative rotation, and reconciling what an ad platform claims against what the store actually recorded. Boring Commerce does that work every day, and Anish built the agency’s own operating system (reporting, launch checks, attribution and finance) with Claude Code so a small team can do it across many brands.

The agency once grew past 100 people and moved into photography and video production. Anish calls that a mistake: the team was not excellent at it, and it pulled focus from ads and stores. The lesson stuck. Rather than hire into work it can’t do well, Boring Commerce now uses software to do more of the work it does do well.
